IS FALLING IN LOVE AN ILLNESS?

The truth of falling love, that it could seem like that because of its similarity with some obsessive mental illness. Both present low levels of serotonin, which is the responsible one of transmitting from one neuron to the other our nervous impulse. A low level of serotonin could provoke irrational or aggressive behavior.

Based on the investigation done in pizza both pathologic states respond to the same structural changes and chemicals of the brain, and they get appropriate of the thoughts and or the victim´s will.

True love happens when it occurs in the brain. The phenylethlamine is an organic compound similar to the amphetamine that has the ability to increase physical energy and alertness, it is attributed to release that neurotransmitter. It is also found in several foods specially in chocolate and chesses.

The brain cocktail of the people in love is formed by dopamine, adrenaline and norepinephrine. The dopamine provokes euphoria feelings, while the adrenaline and the norepinephrine make the heart beat strong and insomnia. When all these neurotransmitters and hormones are mixed they create and internal revolution and the rational becomes irrational, the prudence in awkwardness and the serenity in nerviness. These are reactions that explain the signs of falling in love.

Unfortunately this loving period is not forever it lasts two or three years and at the end the chemical attraction decreases, the second speech phase starts when other kind of chemical substances are present such as the endorphins, this gives the safety, peace and serenity sensation, when the attachment phase stars.

A lover´s sweaty palms, shaky knees, flushed cheeks, and tongue-tied are some ways love affects our body. While these signs are apparent to the naked eye little is known about what happens to the brain when you fall in love. It involves the release of feel good hormones such as oxytocin that fuel lifelong pair bonds.

People who excite romantic feelings in us probably also trigger increases in oxytocin, which results in the increase of dopamine when you find that person that you want to stick with. The love hormone acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain which is produced in nerve cells rather than glandular cells, like most hormones, according to Psych Central. It is believed romantic gestures such as cuddling, hugging or kissing could bust oxytocin levels in the body, which help enhance social bonding between individuals.

In male-female bonds, the love hormone place a vital role in the human sexual response cycle. Oxytocin changes the brain signals that are related to social recognition via facial expression due to activity in the amygdale a part of the brain that place a role in processing emotional stimuli. For example in a monogamous relationship mating triggers a flood of oxytocin and dopamine, a neurotransmitter involved in the feeling of being in love. Then, the brain translates the action of being with that specific mate as “rewarding”. While this solidifies a long term bond between the couple.

  4. When you aren’t sure of a relationship’s potential, every little disagreement feels like it could be the end of the road, and the really big arguments can feel like the end of the world. When you are in a relationship with true potential, however, fighting is no big deal because you have security in each other and in the relationship’s foundation. If you are brushing off your disagreements, confident that tomorrow will be happier because of them, say “hello” to true love.
